CHINA'S APPEAL
LEAGUE SETS UP COMMITTEE GENEVA. Ooct 1 A sub-committee of the Assembly has been appointed to suggest action on China's appeal to the League. Britain, Australia and New Zealand are members, and the United States is represented by an observer. The Chinese have circulated a draft resolution condemning Japan as an aggressor under Article X. of the Covenant. It is expected that this will be referred to the sub-committee, which has decided not to rush matters, lhis may extend the session of the Assembly. RETURNING TO TOKIO JAPANESE PRINCE GUARDED VANCOUVER, Oct. 1 Kncircled by a lieavily-armed police guard, which barred all members of the public from the docks, Prince Chichibu, brother of the Emperor of Japan, who* is returning from the Coronation in London, embarked for Tokio.'
