COUNCIL OF WOMEN
DOMINION CONFERENCE ENDS Approval of the principle of the increased family allowance, and a suggestion that tho amount should be made available for all children under the age of 16 years, were the results of a discussion on motherhood endowment at the Dominion conference of the National Council of Women, which ended on Saturday.
The final function of the conference was the presentation to the retiring president, Miss C. E. Kirk, of a jadecoloured bowl. Tho retiring secretary, Mrs. M. J. Forde, received two crystal vases and the Dominion treasurer, Mrs. E. McNair, was presented with an embossed casserole. The presentations were made by Mrs. Gough, president of the Gisborne branch, on behalf of all delegates to the conference.
