PERSISTENT RUMOURS AUSTRALIAN VISIT DENIED LONDON. Sept. -J3 No arrangements are being made, or are contemplated jet, for a visit of the King and Queen to Australia in 1940. Buckingham Palace officials madf that clear to-day. Stories that the King and Queen contemplate such a visit continue to circulate. Their foundation is believed in London to bo a statement by the Prime Minister of Austialia, Mr. J. A. Lyons, when he returned to Australia after the Coronation.

It was then stated that London newspapers had reprinted a quotation from a speech by Mr. Lyons, mentioning the possibilities of a' visit in 1940 Palace officials said that, while there was always a possibility of the King and Queen visiting the Dominions, no arrangements had been discussed yet
