TRIUMPHANT TOUR ONLY ONE LOSS SUSTAINED COMPARISON OF RECORDS During their tour of New Zealand the Springboks have taken part in 17 matches and have had only oho defeat inflicted upon thein. This was in the iirst test at Wellington, which was won bv New Zealand by 13 points to 7. The South Africans have scored the remarkably fine total of 411 points and have had only 104 registered against them. These figures compare more than favourably with those recorded by the Springboks of 1921 and the British side of 1930, the two most important teams to visit the Dominion since the war.

The first Springbok visit to New Zealand in 1921 was also a most successful one. The team played 19 matches, of which it won 15, lost 2 and drew 2. It scored 244 points and had 81 registered against it. On its tour of the Dominion in 1930 the British team played 21 matches, won 15 and lost 6. It scored '420 points against 205.
