TREATING ELECTORS
• / WARNING IN VICTORIA CAMPAIGNS OF CANDIDATES MELBOURNE. Sept.. 13 Candidates for the Victorian Legislative Assembly must now be circumspect in their campaign activity, for if - they provide free entertainment, free meals or free drinks for electors to -woo their support they may be adjudged guilty of "treating" and may be debarred from entering the Assembly until the following general election. This warning was given officially after it was reported that some candidates would include free entertainment for electors in their campaign programmes.
