RECOVERY IN GERMANY
FINANCE MINISTER'S CLAIM UNEMPLOYMENT WIPED OUT BERLIN, Sept. 12 The Minister of Finance, Herr Reinhardt, states that unemployment in Germany has been wiped out and social, economic and financial distress has been overcome. He said that £3.000,000 had been spent on new industrial plant in the last four years, while production had increased to £5,200,000,000 from £3,072,000,000. ■. National income was £4,960,000,000, compared with £3,600,000,000 in 1933. Average wages had increased by 5 per cent owing to lengthening of hours from 6.91 to 7.59 a day.
