AUSTRALIAN TITLE GOLF PROFESSIONAL CONTEST PLAY IN THE FIRST ROUND (Received September 13, *11.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 13 A feature of the first rounds of the Australian amateur and professional golf championships, 36 holes match play, to-day, was the defeat of the open champion, G. Naismith, 2 and 1, by the Moorepark professional, 0, Booth. The latter was three up at the end of 18 holes.

Ferrier beat Hattersley 2 and 1 after a hard fight. Von Nida beat Spence 9 and 8; Williams (Victoria) beat Higgins, 3 and 2; and Richardson beat Boorer, 5 and 4. Other winners included W. Bolger, Ryan, Davies, Headlam, Rae and Wacker.
