DON COSSACK CHOIR
FINAL CONCERT TO-MORROW The Don Cossacks will give their farewell concert in the Auckland Town Hall to-morrow night, before they leave for Australia. The choir will be heard in Whangarei to-night, returning 1 to Auckland by special train tomorrow. According to Mr. Arthur N. 'fait, representative of Messrs. J. and N. Tait, who arranged with General Platoff for the New Zealand tour by this famous choir, more than 70,000 people in' this country liavo attended concerts given by the Don Cossacks. This fact in itself is enough to show that their wonderful singing and dancing has a very strong* appeal for New Zealand audiences
A programme embracing the most popular numbers from their large repertoire will ho given at the concert to-morrow night, including the everpopular "Volga Boatmen," "Kanavoushka," "Platoff Song" and "Monotonously Kings the Little Bell." An international flavour will be added to the programme by ten new numbers, representative of Peru, Argentina, Chile, South Africa and England. Tho item from Argentina is a tango, "La Pninpay la Puna," and nriother which should create intotcst at present is "Sary Alaray," sung i in Africaans and learned by the choir uhen they wro in Pretoria. Tho wellknown Maori song "Haere Ra" will be repeated by the Don Cossacks, and gives the final touch to a truly cosmopolitan entertainment. Details of booking arrangements are advertised.
