DEATH OF A CHINESE
MANSLAUGHTER ALLEGED [from our owx correspondent] APIA. Sept. 4 During a quarrel at a local bakehouse last week between a Chinese baker and a Samoan native, the latter was ejected. He again endeavoured to force his way into the building and eventually picked up a billet of wood and struck the Chinese a blow on the back of the head. The Chinese fell to the ground and was struck a second time. His skull was fractured and lie died on tho way to the hospital. The assailant was arrested and committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter.
