STOCKS AND SHARES
AUCKLAND EXCHANGE
l, N0 IMPROVEMENT SHOWN
Xo relief from the dull and nervous /conditions which ruled in the investment market, hist week was afforded •when another week opened on the .Auckland 'Stock Exchange yesterday. even smaller amount of business •was transacted and buyers were particularly hesitant in coming forward. More plentiful supplies of Government loans were available on a steady market. Few oilers were made for banks. Commercials of Australia again sold at, the current low level. Insurances were practically neglected. The classified issues were dull and featureless. Industrials suffered further setbacks on a particularly weak market. There was a marked easing in metals, Broken Hill Proprietary being jnarked do(vn further, while levels for Electrolytic Zincs fell again. Weakness was evident in G. J. Coles, and Colonial Sugars dropped 011 sale. New Zealand issues were not affected to such, a great extent but there were few marked movements. Taranaki Oils made another upward movement after the recent decline.
