PRIVATE HOTEL TARIFFS
DECISION IN WELLINGTON MATTER FOR INDIVIDUALS [BY TELKCRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Wednesday The possibility of an increase in tariffs was considered, at a meeting of members of the Wellington Private Hotel Keepers' Association to-day. The secretary, Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, said after the meeting that full consideration had been given to the suggestion by the Auckland association that tariffs should be increased ( ail round by ten per cent as from to-day. The meeting had unanimously decided that notwithstanding the ever-increas-ing cost of commodities, competition, and other factors at present causing concern, it was not prepared to .decide the question of an all-round tariff increase. It was agreed that individual hotel-keepers should decide the matter for themselves according to their particular circumstances.
