THEFT OF SHOES
"Drink seems to be this man's trouble," said Detective-Sergeant Walsh in the Police Court yesterday, when Thomas Jones, aged 56, pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of shoes valued at £1 2s 6d, tho property of H. S. Chambers and Sons. The magistrate, Mr. W. P. McKean, imposed a fine of £2, in default 14 days' imprisonment*
