CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES L STEWART BEATS HOLDSWORTH [by TELEGRAPH —Fit ESS ASSOCIATION'I "WELLINGTON. Wednesday With a fine display of billiards, including a spectacular break of -82, E. K. Stewart (Dunedin) beat L. Hokls- ( (Auckland) in a match at the Y.M.G'.A. rooms* this morning in the Zealand amateur billiards championship. The game ended in favour of Stevcart by 666 to 516. In a, one-sided contest this afternoon, K. Peek (Wellington) proved, much too jr oof ] f or § q Stephens (Hokitika). The Wellington man won by 121 Points. Neither player could reproduce the form shown in the first round. The youthful Hokitika player had a day off and could do nothing right. Peck was a «o much below the form he showed as runner-up for the Wellington championship this season. A long-drawn-out contest, which lasted about three and analf hours, saw Peek win by 666 to 5-15.
