DOWAGER DUCHESS MARCHIONESS OF SLIGO [FROM OUR OWN- COKUKSPOXDKXTI London, August it Notable visitors to New Zealand toward the end of the year will be the Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, mother of the Duke of Norfolk, who, as Earl Marshal, was in charge of the Coronation celebrations, aiul the Marchioness of Sligo, who will' be the guest of the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, and Lady Galway at Government House. The Dowager Duchess of Norfolk will be accompanied by her third and youngest daughter, Lady Winefride Alice Fitzalan-Howard, who is '2'2. She is to leave England, unless arrangements are altered at a later date, in
October, and she will travel to New Zealand by way of Canada. The Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, who was the late Duke's second wife, succeeded her father in the Scottish. barony of Herries in 1908. Her seats are at Everinghnm Park, York, and at Kinharvie, New Abbey, Dumfriesshire. She married the loth Duko. of Norfolk in 1904. The Marchioness of Sligo will be accompanied by her cousin, Miss Helen Maclean of Ardgour. She leaves England by the Rangitata on October 14 and will not return until the end of March. Some time is to be spent visiting the South Sea Islands, and on the return trip calls will be made at Australia. Tasmania and India. In Bombay she will stay with her son-in-law. Lord Brabourne, who has been the Governor since 1933. The Marchioness is anticipating her visit to New Zealand with the greatest of pleasure. She is a keen fisherwoman and is looking forward to "some sport with the large trout." An enthusiastic gardener, she is also preparing to enjov the horticultural attributes of the Dominion.
