NEW SOUTH WALES COAST DISTRESS SIGNALS SENT VESSEL NOT IDENTIFIED (Received September 1, 1.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 31 An unidentified vessel, apparently a coaster, is reported to be ashore and breaking up at the old bar entrance to the Manning River, about 300 miles north of Sydney. , It is reported that she grounded at 9 o'clock to-night—on the sunken reef 600 ft. from the shore. 4 Rockets were fired from the ship, which also sent out S.O.S. signals. The sea is moderate but a fog is hampering the rescue work.
