AIR LINERS DELAYED
HEAVY RAIN IN SOUTH MACHINE TWICE TURNS BACK [BY TKLKGRAPH —PRKSS ASSOCIATION"] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday " Heavy misty rain over Christchurch to-day prevented a south-bound Lnion Airways liner from, leaving Blenheim. Two attempts were made to reach Christchurch, but the machine had to turn back on both occasions and remained at Blenheim this evening- it will come to Christchurch early tomorrow morning and will make ~ the scheduled trip north to Palmerston North, cutting out Dunedin. A north-bound machine encountered bad visibility on the way from Dunedin and landed at .\shburton, where it waited for two hours for the weather to clear over Christchurch. A slight improvement allowed it to continue nod the trip to Palmerston North was completed.
