POWER BOARD FRANCHISE
EXTENSION OPPOSED LOCAL BODIES' ATTITUDE Opposition to an extension of the franchise for the election of members of the Auckland Electric-Power Board as proposed in a draft of an amendment bill prepared by the AttorneyGeneral, the Hon. H. G. R.. Mason, was expressed at a conference yesterday of representatives of a ' largo number of local bodies with tho Auckland Electric-Power Board. A resolution was passed, with only one dissentient, the City Council representative; stressing tho satisfaction of the bodies concerned with the existing franchiso. Mr. Mason, who had been invited to attend tho conference, was not present.
