DON COSSACK CHOIR
SEASON OPENS ON SATURDAY * - . There is a very heavy demand for seats for*the approaching season of General /Platoff's celebrated Don Cossack Choir and Russian dancers, "which is limited to one week, and which begins at His Majesty's Theatre on ••Saturday-'night under the direction of J. and N. Tait. The reputation J of the Don Cossack Choir, which numbers over 30 Russians, has preceded them .wherever they have travelled. These perfectly matched solo voices cover the range from high soprano to the lowest bass, singing vivid folksongs, opera choruses and soldier songs, with a gladness am! a grandeur that is characteristic of their race. The conductor. Nicolas Kostrukolf, with his B> magnetic personality manages the with remarkable effect* bringing 'out quick changes in emotion and hushring the music almost to a whisper.
