YACHTSMAN HURT
MISHAP AT ST. MARY'S BAY
FALL ON HAULING-OUT SKIDS
Injuries to the spine wore suffered by a yachtsman, Sir. Alec Raymond Davie, aged 30, single, of. 277 New North Road, Glenmore, as a result of a fall on the hauling-out skids at the Ponsonby Cruising Club's boathouso in St. Mary's Bay yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Davie, who is a shop assistant employed by the Farmers' Trading Company, Limited, was working on the mullet boat Waiata, when he stepped back and fell on to a pump, injuring his back. A St. John ambulance was called and the vehicle was driven right down on to the beach so that Mr. Davie could be shifted with as little inconvenience as possible. Ho was taken to tho Auckland Hospital and his condition last night was reported to be not serious.
