CLASHES WITH POLS CE MAURITIUS SUGAR WORKERS LONDON, August 27 A message from Port Louis, Mauritius, states that a recrudescence has occurred of the sugar mill strikes, which were settled two days after four lives had been lost in clashes. Rioters moved to the southern districts, where they set fire to canefields and Indian huts and terrorised factory hands, who thereupon left their work. Several rioters were killed in clashes with the police. The planters have requested the Government to take prompt and sterner measures. Troops are standing by.
