ENGLISH PRESS COMMENT LONDON, August 27 "Australia's recovers 1 is more spectacular than that of almost any other country," says the Manchester Guardian, in a leading article. "The Lyons Government naturally wants to put the best complexion on its defence programme, nil the more so because of the strong .cleavage in Australian opinion as to whether the Commonwealth's defence . needs are best secured by concentrating on the Navy, as he believes, or on the Air Force, as the Labour Opposition proposes."
