UNWATERING OF MINE
PROGRESS AT HIKURANGI NORMAL EARLY NEXT MONTH [BY TKT.KGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Saturday . The unwatering of the Hikurangi Coal Company's mine at Waro, Hikurangi, which was flooded some weeks ago, lias almost been completed. 'Jilio main drive has been emptied of water for some days, and now the airway is clear to the lay-by, near the bottom, where the tunnel branches off toward the main drive. When the silt in the lay-by is removed, the remainder of the mine will be pumped dry. All the men employed, numbering 05, are engaged clearing the mine of silt and debris, and it is hoped to resume normal mining operations early next month.
