REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURES PAEROA DEFEATS MANUKAU . Further representative football matches were played in country centres of the Auckland Province on Saturday afternoon. Paeroa. —The final representative match of the Paeroa Rugby Union was played between l'aeroa and tho Mnnukau Sub-Union, the home tea winning by 15 to jl. troni a good opening by Silcock, Bunting carried play to Manukau's fullback and centrekicked, the ball going back to. Bunting, who scored. A penalty gave Bunting an opportunity to kick a goal for Paeroa, making the score: Paeroa, 0; Manukau, ". Egan converting three tries and kicking a penalty goal. T. Paaka and Aitken scored for Morrinsville, the latter converting both tries and kicking two penalty goals. During the half-time interval opportunity was taken to present to .7. Third grade: The final game in the third grade championship was played between Old Boys and Kereone. It was drawn, ft-all, but. as the Old Boys' team was leading in the competition by one point, it thereby wins the Hodges Cup for the third grade championship. Helensville. —The defeat of Kaipara ear|y in the season by Pukekohe was reversed m the return match played at Helensville. The sides were very evenly matched with the home team the better in the loose rushes. Pukekohe was faster away from the set scrums and frequently outran the Kaipara backs with smart passing. Unfortunately for Pukekohe there were man}- penalties for offside play, but only two Raip&ra attempts at goal were successful, 12 being missed. Pukekohe scored first with a try by Loughrin, who also converted and P. McLeod evened with a solo try, which he converted. Costello sold a perfect dummy for the second trj- which Longhrin converted. Hewitt made try from a passing rush. Kaipara came away very fast and E. Smith made a good dasli for a try in the corner. From a scrum on the Kaipara twenty-five all the Pukekohe barks handled well and Clark scored. A similar Kaipara rush a few minutes later gave T. Smith an easy try. Tauranga.—A match between the Bay of Plenty and Thames Valley Rugby representatives was played in ideal weather and was won by Bay of Plenty by 30 points to G. In the first ten minutes E. Howell scored two tries for Bay of Plenty, both being converted by M. Davies, R. Lees added two more tries for Bay 'of Plenty, while Rae scored for Thames Valley, the half-time score being 10 to 3. in favour of Bay of Plenty. In the second half tries for Bay of Plenty were gained by J. McNeile (3) and T. Whiteley, ono try being converted by P. Howell. A penalty goal for Thames valley was added by W. Vedder. The Kahukura senior team from Rotorua played a drawn match with Cadets seniors (Tauranga). 8 points all. A junior match for the Green Memorial Shield resulted: —Rangutau, 0; Judca. 0. Waiuku. —Waiuku successfully defended tho Massey Challenge Cup against Mangatawhiri, winning by 8 points to 3. Tries for Waiuku were scored by J. Thompson and R. Garland, G. Brighouse converting one. Parker scored for Mangatawhiri. Cambridge.—Displaying a better back combination. Te Awamutu defeated Cambridge Blues in the Stag competition by 10 points to ■B. The game was played at a fast pace and the many bright movements were appreciated by the spectators.

Thames.—Thames again kept the Peace Cup by defeating Mnninpoto by the comfortable margin of 10 points to 5. The game was a very hard-fought one and Thames kept on the'attack from the start. Hayward early crossed (lis line during a forward rush iii which the pussinpr was excellent. Haniiltou (Thames) got tho hall and passed to Slorev, who score J with three men holding hiiiii. Ake converted. Ake demonstrated the divo pass, getting the bail away frequently to his side's advantage. Hamilton drop-kicked a bountiful goal from 25 yards, making the score at half-time:—Thames, 12; Maniapoto, 0. Solomon (Thames) drop-kicked a goal amid K rent excitement frorti the lartre crowd.
