DIVORCE SUIT
MARRIED EIGHT WEEKS SPANISH EX-CROWN PRINCE , WIFE'S REPORTED INTENTION By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 27, 9.5 p.m.) ' . HAVANA, August .27 ... The Countess of Cavadonga, wife ' of the eldest son of and former heir to ex-King Alfonso of Spain, is reported to be instituting divorce proceedings. They were married only on July 4 last, the bride being then Miss Marita Rocafort, a former New York model, daughter of a dentist at Havana.
The Count of Cavadonga was born at Madrid in May, 1907, and was reported to have renounced his rights to tho Spanish throne when his father, Alfonso XIII., renounced the throne after the Republic had been proclaimed. Tho count married a Cuban girl in June, 1933, but she divorced him last year.
It was stated last June that the count's intention to marry again had caused deep grief to his parents. The marriage, it was stated, could never be approved by the Royal household, as it would be in absolute conflict with the Roman Catholic faith and the laws of the Fatherland. 4 Alfonso was painfully compelled to sever all relations with his son, believing that he thus interpreted the sentiments of all Spanish Catholics and Monarchists.
