MANGERE BUS SERVICE
FEEDER PLAN OPPOSED RIDING MEMBER'S VIEWS Opposition to a feeder bus service from Mangere to the tram terminus at Oneliunga is expressed by Mr. A. E. Trayes, a Mangere riding representative on the Manukau County Council. He said yesterday that he strongly supported a through service, such as existed at the present time. A large proportion of the residents of Mangere had business' interests in the city, and for them a quick service from their homes to their .plaees of business was essential, he said. The main objection to a feeder' serrice was the , increased travelling time, which would average at least a quarter of an hour each wsv daily. If a feederservice were accepted, it would be only under protest by 90 per cent of the residents of Mangere, who were alarmed at the present position. Every effort would be made by. him to secure through buses at least m the morning and evening to meet the needs of business people, Mr. Traye3 said. Negotiations were in progress to secure a through service, instead of the feeder service that had been proposed. Meetings of residents were to be held in various parts of the, district nest week to discuss the position.
