BRIGHT IDEA FROM CHINA
The Government of the Chinese province of Kwantung being in need of money lias decreed that every family throughout the province is to receive one chicken. This Government chicken is to bo fattened by the family and then given back to the Treasury. The idea is that the chick cost the Government )23 cents, but that the adult hen or cock will bo worth a dollar—four times as much. Three hundred per cent is good profit for the State.
