A little attention to simple cleanliness can make the time you spend on your manicure so much more worth while. The nails and hands should always bo washed thoroughly with a brush before the nails are cut or filed. The best thing to use for filing the nails is an emery board file, and an orange nail stick should be used for cleaning the nails. Sharp scissors or steel instruments for cleaning the nails and pushing back the cuticles should be kept scrupulously clean, and used with great gentleness, otherwise the sharp ends may damage the cuticles and cause sepsis. 'You can get special sticks with rubber ends for pushing back the cuticles, and these are the most practical to use.
