OBITUARY
MR. D. S. KIDD The death has occurred of Mr. Douglas Swanston Kidd, director of the firm of Kidd, Garrett, Limited, at the ago of 46. Mr. Kidd, who was tho third son of the lato Mr. J. S. Kidd, formerly general manager of the Auckland Tramways Company, was a farmer at Maroheno before the Great War, in which he saw active service. The principal sport in which. Mr. Kidd took part was tenuis, and he was an active inomber of the Carlton Club. He married the eldest daughter of Captain F. Colbeck. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and one son.
MRS. 0. H. LUPTON Tho death lias occurred at Maimrewa, nt tho ago of 75, of Mrs. C. H. Lupton, an old' resident of the town. *Born in London, i\lrs. Lupton came to New Zealand with her parents as a child, and resided in Auckland for some years. After her marriage, Mrs. Lupton lived at Woodside (Wiri), with her husbantl, later moving to Takanini, where they resided for many years. During the period of the Great War, Mrs. Lupton was associated with a branch of the Victoria League formed in Manurewa, and also took an active part in other welfare work throughout the district. She was a member of the Anglican Church, and was associated with many activities connected with St. Luke's Church, Manurewa. Mrs. Lupton is survived by four sons and four daughters. There are also a number of grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
MR. 0. J. WEST [from our own correspondent! WAIUKU, Friday Mr. Charles Joseph West, of Waiuku, whose death has occurred, at tho age of 73, was born in Onehunga and educated at Peter Mason's School in Newton. In 1880 he went with his parents to Waiuku and was engaged in farming on the Newlands Estate. Following a period in Tnranaki, ho returned to tho Waiuku district. He farmed- at Waipipi, Waiuku, for some time, and married Miss Kato Vaughan, He later moved to Glenbrook, where ho took up a largo area of land. Ho also acted as manager of tho Mauku creamery for some time. About 25 years ago ho re-, tired and took up his residence in Waiuku. Ho is survived by his wife, ono son, and two daughters. There arc six grandchildren. MR. C. A. SHAW [UY TELEGRAPH —OWN COURESrONDENT! CAMBRIDGE, Friday The death Occurred at Hamilton on Wednesday of Mr. Charles Angus Shaw, aged 56 years. For some time ho was manager of the dairy, factory (it Leamington, and then he farmed at Leamington and Pukerimu. Two years ago he took up land at Tauwharo, "and latterly had been farming at Horsham Downs. Mr. Shaw was a past grandmaster of the Oddfellows' Lodge.
MR. W. ROBERTS [llY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Friday v The death lias occurred of Mr, W. Roberts, who from 1889 to 1903 made 47 appearances for Wellington as a versatile Rugby back, playing in every Sosition in the back lino. He represented few Zealand against Queensland in 185)6, and in tho following year was called to Australia when J. Duncan was injured. For many yours ho was in tho employ of tho Wellington Harbour Board. MRS. A. H. KEARNE [from our own correspondent! WHANGAREI, Friday Tho death occurred at tho Whangarei District Hospital on Wednesday of Mrs. Sarah Frances Kearno, of Hatea Street, aged 58 years, wife of Mr. Arthur H. Kearno, of Wluingarei. Mrs. Kearne was born in the Tnranaki district, and married Mr. Kearne at Amberley. She is survived by her husband and one son.
