SCHOOL DIET REFORM

WIDESPREAD INTEREST MANY INQUIRIES. RECEIVED Ihe article published in the HEn.u,i> last Saturday, describing the successful experiment in dietary reform on scientific principles at the school liouf.fi of the Mount Albert Grammar School, has attracted widespread interest, judging by the many letters and telephone inquiries that the matron of the house has since received. Most of the inquirers wish to obtain fuller particulars of the experiment, and particularly copies of menus. The article was reprinted by a Wellington paper, and among the writers of letters are the secretary of the Social Science Research Bureau, lately set up by the Government, and the matron of a Wellington school house accommodating 80 pupils. The secretary of the research bureau states that the latter is specially interested in nutritional problems and desires further information about the experiment, in which experts attached to its staff will be glad to assist. It is hoped to arrange for the circulation of data to heads of institutions who desire them, as the experiment, although not yet complete, has already given valuable results.
