Results of to-day's games in tho Auckland ltugby League's senior championship will have considerable bearing on championship honours, as several teams aro well placed on tho ladder. Richmond and Newton are to provide the principal contest, while the curtain-raiser will bo between Ponsonby and Marist. The modal competition in the senior division of tho Auckland Football Association's championship will bo continued to-day. The Auckland hockey team will defend the New Zealand Challenge Shield this afternoon against the Poverty Bay representatives, tho game being set down for decision on tho Remuera grounds.
