THIRD ANNUAL BALL

MAUNGAKIEKIE GOLF CLUB EFFECTIVE DECORATIONS A most effective decorative scheme had been carried out last night in the Peter Pan Cabaret, when the Maungakiekio Golf Club held its third annual ball. In the entrance hall of the cabaret, arum lilies gleamed in the midst of massed punga fronds, the walls being shrouded with palm leaves. The guests entered tlio vestibule beneath a canopy of streamers in blue and silver, the club colours, while a huge "M" worked in lilies fronted the dance floor. Overhead were clusters of balloons and blue and silver streamers. In the lounges, which were labelled with such golfing terms as "Fore," "Out of Bounds" and "G.TJ.K." (Ground under Repair), vases of daffodils and poppies had been arranged, and over the orchestral dais silver sticks were crossed on the blue ground of the club's shield. The tables in the supper room were decorated with vases of long-stemmed daffodils alternating with sunset-tinted poppies.
