MORE LARGE CROWDS BAKERS' COMPETITIONS MODEL AEROPLANE FLYING ' Attendances at the Auckland Winter Exhibition were again large, yesterday, aided by fine weather, and it was estimated last night that to date the figure? for last year had been easily reached, if not exceeded. There was the usual large proportion of juvenile visitors, who paid most attention to the side-shows and free picture entertainments. The trade exhibits again attracted much attention.

The judging of bakers' bread and cakes took place yesterday morning. The New Zealand Perpetual Championship Challenge Trophy for the best commercial loaf of bread in tho show was won by F. Findlay. Results of other competitions were as follows: — Best commercial loaf: F. Findlay, 1; Stacey and Hawker, 2; Freemason and Sons, 3; R. D. Johnston, 4. Block cakes: Stormonts, Limited, 1; Nevilles, Limited (New Plymouth), 2. The second series of model aeroplane flying competitions was held on Wednesday night, results being as follows: —Longest flight fuselage R.O.G. models: S. Murphy, 1; A. Ollerenshaw, 2; C. Shaw, 3. "All-up-together" contest: Mrs. H. J. Clark, 1; A. T. Hanson, 2. The third series of contests was held last night. Additional attractions were an entertainment by pupils of Miss K. Boyle and the arrival at the show of St. Andrew's Pipe Band after a march from the Town Hall. The second round of the personality quest resulted in a popular win for Mr. Cyril Barnett. The presentation of the Weddell Cup for butter manufacture was made to the Rodney Dairy Company last night, when the manager, Mr. P. S. Halligan, accepted the trophy on behalf of the company. Rodney won the cup last year, after having risen from lowest place in the Auckland Province for butter grading nine years ago. A feature of to-day's programme will be the final of the personality quest, while other events of interest will be an entertainment by Miss P. Marmont's pupils, and tho march to the show of tho Auckland Highland Pipe Band. There will be the usual free pictures.
