WOMAN'S BODY ON ROCKS
RECOVERY BY POLICE PARTY HAZARDOUS DESCENT MADE [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION*] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday After a hazardous descent by the aid of ropes and a winch and the help of experienced climbers, a party of police to-day recovered the body of a woman which had been lying on the rocks near Sumner since Saturday. The body was at the foot of a 300 ft. cliff. The body is believed to be that of Mrs. Nicholas, a middle-aged Christchurch woman, who was reported missing on Saturday. It was found impossible to reach the body from the sea.
