RAILWAYS BUSY
AUCKLAND BOOKINGS FOOTBALL TEST MATCH THREE SPECIAL TRAINS An exceptionally busy week is being experienced at the Auckland railway station, owing to the large number of bookings for the three special trains to Wellington to-morrow for the first test match between New Zealand and the Springboks on Saturday. It is expected that about 1500 people will travel on the trains, which are already fully booked. Ilie eagerness of the intending travellers is indicated by the fact that most of the bookings were made early.. A large number of travellers is expected to-day. Among the passengers on the afternoon express for Wellington will be about 50 students from the Auckland Teachers' Training College, who will participate in competitions with the Wellington Teachers' Training College. The Auckland college will be represented in Rugby football, boxing, hockey, tennis, basketball and debating. The teams will return on Wednesday morning. The three excursion trains for Wellington to-morrow will leave Auckland at 2.30, 3.50 and 5.40 in the afternoon. Passengers will be picked up as far south as Ongarue, and it is expected that about 36 carriages will be required to accommodate all the passengers. Two additional carriages were required on the afternoon express for Wellington yesterday to accommodate a party of about SO boys and girls from the Kowhai Intermediate School, who are to visit Wanganui. The trip is an excursion, but the children will play teams from the Wanganui Intermediate School at Rugby and Association football, hockey and basketball. They will arrive b«ck in Auckland on Sunday morning.
