ROYALTIES WED WITH COMMONERS
Prince Ernst Leopold zur Lippedetmold has married a commoner, the manageress of a dress-shop. This Prince is a compatriot and relative of Prince Bernhard zur Lippe-Bes-terfield. husband of Princess Juliana, of Holland, so that whereas one rises toward a throne by marriage the other departs from crowns toward crepe-de-chine. The marriages of royalties with commoners in recent times have become so usual as almost to have created a new precedent.
