DAYLIGHT ROBBERY
RAID ON POST OFFICE In a daylight robbery at a post office in Wimbledon Park, London, thieves escaped with £7OO. The robbery is believed to have taken place during the lunch i>eriod while the post office, which is in a shop, was shut. The thieves broke through a back door and forced open a safe. As far as can be ascertained nobody saw them near the building. Police arc investigating the similarity between this and another recent daylight raid 011 a nearby house. In that case the thieves were disturbed, and, in making their escape, dropped a quantity of jewellery.
