TAUPIRI DRAINAGE
STRIKING OF RATES PROVISION FOR MAINTENANCE [from our own* correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Tho following rates were struck at yesterday's meeting of tho Taupiri Drainage Board, the figures including tho general rate, special rates ill connection with the conversion loan, tho £IO,OOO loan for the Government scheme, and the maintenance rate for tho old district drains:—North Mangawara, 5s 3£d; South Mangawara, 3s (3d; Komakorau, 3s Ojd;' Tauhei, 4s 9d; Freshlield, os 4Jd; Tenfoot, 4s 8d; Uapoto, 41d. Tho figures given aro the maximum rates on an acreage basis, lesser amounts boing paid according to the classification of tho land. Provision has been. made in the general rate .for tho creation of a maintenance reserve. The following rates were struck for loans that have not been converted: — Hillside district loan, £1930, l-10d; Tauhei, £4OOO, l'Jd; Woodlands, special area loan, £3OOO, ljd; Gordonton, £3QOO, 3id; Motumaoho, £3OOO, 2 7-1 Od. These rates also are subject to reduction according to land classification.
