ORDER OF THE THISTLE
QUEEN FIRST LADY MEMBER GARDEN PARTY AT HOLYROOD LONDON, July 7 Large crowds of people witnessed the arrival to-day of the King and Queen at St. Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh, where the Queen was, installed as the first lady member of the order of Knights of the Thistle. Hundreds of summer dresses and cart-wheel hats were ruined by a sudden deluge which washed out the King's garden party at Holyrood House. Six thousand guests rushed to the shelter of trees and marquees, and others rushed indoors.
