SOCIAL. CLUB DANCE GOLD AND RED DECORATIONS The hall at the Crystal Palace Theatre, Mount Eden, was tho scene of an enjoyable dance last night, when the social club of tho Shell Company of Now Zealand, Limited (Auckland branch), held its first function for the season. Latticed streamers and frillings of blue, scarlet, purple and green formed a bright canopy over the floor, with strings of gay balloons giving an ollective finish to tho decorations. In the supper room the company's colours of gold and red draped the lights and the tables, the latter being set with vases of gold and red poppies. The hostess was Miss Peggy Cooper, who wore a gown of sunset chiffon. The other members of the committee wore: —Miss Nancy Tver, who was in black moire taffetas; Miss Molly Stannaway, lilac shot taffetas; and Misv Jean Scott, ciel blue taffetas.
