SEASON'S WINNEES AUCKLAND STATISTICS BLUE MOUNTAIN KING BEST BY ABAYDOS Blue Mountain King was again the most successful trotting sire in the Auckland Province this season with 1!) winners and £36-15 in stakes. Nelson Bingen returned 14 successful candidates for £1865, while five of his sons, Native King, Peter'Bingen, Great Bingen, Nelson Derby and Nelson Fame were collectively responsible for 22 winners and £2900 in prize-money. Others whose progeny exceeded four figures were: Frank Worthy £1240, Our Thorpe £l2lO, Travis Axworthy £ll4O, and Pedro Pronto £lO-15. Blue Mountain King was bred in Australia, his siro being tin New Zealand horse Ribbonwood, by Wildwood from Dolly, by Young Irvington from a thoroughbred mare. His dam, Doness, was of Don Pronto descent. After winning many races in his native land for G. H. Phipps, he was purchased by McKendrick Brothers, Epsom, for whom he won the Auckland Trotting Cup. Blue Mountain King's best stakeearners were King's Play, King's Warrior, King's Guide, Kewpie's King and Kewpio's Crest, but Bonny Azure, Munga Tangi and Mountain Flight assisted in compiling the good return. King's Warrior won the Auckland Cup. Bonny Azure has been a good winner throughout the Dominion and has reached a 4.25 line, whilo King's Warrior is on 4.2 G. Nelson Bingen Family Nelson Bingen was a son of Bingen, 2.61. His dam, Suzettc Baron, was by Raron Wilkes from Suzette Nelson, by Nelson. Nelson Bingen was one of the most successful stallions imported from America and established a great record with straight-out trotters. Horses of this gait gave him 10 of his 14 wins— Young Rodney and Punvßingen (two each), Great Admiral, To Kaha, Bingen Sun, Golden Maid, Nelson's Glory and Bronte. Red Frontier (two), Bismuth and Superfine were his successful pacers. The Bingen-Peter the Great cross has proved most valuable and it is worthy of note that Young Rodney, Nelson's Glory, Great Admiral, Tc Kahtt, Superfine and Red Frontier are bred on those lines.

Native King's winners were 'Meadow King, Native Tree and Native Princess, trotters, Charteris Bay and Native Cole, and they earned £755. Smooger's earnings credited Native King with another £l6O. Nelson Derby's three winners, Derby Lu, Plutus and Franz Derby, accounted for while Lady Fame earned £37o'"for Nelson Famo.

Native King, Nelson Derby and Nelson Fame were from Norice, an American daughter of Charles Derby. Charles Derby's dam, Kate G., was by Electioneer, her grand-dam, Fanny Molono, being by Niagara from the thoroughbred Fanny Wicklnm. Naulahka, dam of Norice, was by Balkan, by Jlambrino Wilkes, son of George Wilkes, from Fanny Fern, whoso dam also'lvas a thoroughbred. Native King was a trotter, while his brothers were pacers. Two From Bertha Belle Two sons of Nelson Bingen from Bertha Belle, Great Bingen and Peter Bingen, earned respectively £6lO and £t)os. Great Bingen was represented by Tollgate (three wins), Haudicapper and Crocus, and Peter Bingen by King Country and Transfer (.two each), Hearsay and Ranfurly Lass. Bertha Belle was by Peter the Great, 2.7}. To Nelson Bingen she produced other good winners, Great Peter, Great Nelson and Baron Bingen, and to Guy Parrish Great Parrish, wnile Ringtrue was by Travis Axworthy. Our Thorpo was a fine sprinter, taking a mile record of 2.6 1-5 and a mile and a-quarter record of 2.41 2-5. Our McKinney was tho chief contributor to his total. His dam, Flora McKinney, was a good performer by Young McKinney, an imported horse by Seymour Wilkes. Our Pcggv and Claudelands were other successful representatives, while Mountain Sun-was cot by an unnamed Our Thorpe colt. Axworthy Successes In addition to France Worthy and Travis Axworthy, the Axworthy line was represented by Guy Parrish and his son Great Parrish, Worthy Bond and Rqal Guy* tho list showing 22 wins for £3475.. Frank Worthy, whose career was cut short, had a record of while his sire, Guy Axworthy, produced four to better two minutes — Axworthy 1.58}, Guy McKinney 1.582, Mr. McElwyn 1.59}, and Arion Guy 1.59 J. Frank Best and Keuworthy wore the mainstay of Frank Worthy's stock, but Proletarian. Reception and Sir Frank also scored. Great Parrish as Sire Guy Axworthy also sired Guy Parrish, who produced two winners, Winnie Parrish and Lady Bunker, while another son, Real Guy, was represented by Corrioanda.- Guy Parrish sired Great Parrish, a Great Northern Derby and Auckland Cup winner, and two of .his progeny, Nawton Parrish and Bold Venture, won this season. « Tho Australian sires, Don Pronto, his son Pedro Pronto and Win Alto, wero successful. Star Pronto credited Don Pronto with £740 and Vain Lad earned £425 for Win Alto. Sonoma Harvester reached £705 through tho agency of lmposter and Great Sonoma, while Jack Potts, with Lucky Jack, Frisco Lady, Horsepower and Molly Direct, collected £720. Jewel Pointer stock luid seven wins— Great Jewel and Musketeer (throe each) and Royal Jewel. Roy do Oro was represented by three winners—Levity (three), Gold Dredge (two) and Parisionno—for a total of £930, while Roy Spec, second in tjie Auckland Cup, added £2OO.
