PAKURANGA HUNT
MEETING AT CLEVEDON PRESENTATION TO SUPPORTERS Considering the amount of rain that had fallen, the going was good for the Pakuranga Hunt's meeting at Clevedon on Tuesday. Before the field moved off, the master, Mr. H. Bullock Webster, made a presentation on behalf of the hunt to Mr. and IMrs. TV. Gore, who are leaving the district. The master said how much he regretted losing such staunch supporters. The field then moved off on to Mr. Gore's farm, and, after working through the swamp, raised a hare close to the homestead. It circled' round the property and then went away across Mr. H. Drum's farm to some rough, • swampy country. The hounds worked it out of the rough land and the hare made a fast run back to Mr. Gore's farm, where it was killed in some rushes.
Another hare was soon got going and went across Mr. H. Garland's property and then across Mr. Wilson's and Mr. Farrer's and on to Mr. Gore's farm, where it also was accounted for. The field then moved on to Mr. P. Graham's, where a third strong hare was raised. The quarry crossed to Mr. C. Graham's and then led the hunt over tho road to Mr. J. Lane's and then through Mr. Noonan's and Mr. C. Hawthorne's out on to the "road, where the scent was lost. There were several more good runs over these properties before the order for homo was giveii. Morning and afternoon tea were served by the ladies of Clevedon.
