Geoffrey Hutchinson (Conservative) 25,533 .Sir. Percy Aistins (Labour) 16,211 Majority . , . . -<.•. 9,319 The returns for the Ilford seat at "the last general election in November, 1935, were: —Sir George Hamilton (Conservative), 43,208; Mr. P. Astins (Labour), 25,241; majority. 17,967.
