SOUTH AUCKLAND CENTRE

NEW CLUBS AFFILIATED

Three new clubs, Renown, Ohaupo and Rangiriri, joined the South Auckland Bowling Centre during the year, making tho total number of clubs affiliated 37 and tho number of playing members 1546. The delegates representing the new clubs were given a cordial welcome at the annual meeting of tho centre to-day. Mr. P. H. Rowe presided over a largo attendance. The receipts for tho year totalled £lB7, and tho expenditure £145, a profit of £42 being made.

The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. P. H. Rowe; vice-presidents, Mr. W. Maingay (Te Aroha), Mr. G. Rogers (Ngaruawahia); secretary, Mr. C. W. Wycherlcy; treasurer, Mr. C. G. Speight; selectors, Messrs. J. T. North, W. Maingay and P. Stewart; executive, Messrs. H. L. Franklin. J. T. North. W. Frgser, S. Lewis, E. W. Tozer and W. Waring; management committee, Messrs. Rowe, Wycherley and Eraser; auditor, Mr. C. Davis.A remit recommending that a levy of Od bo imposed on all playing members for (he purpose of creating a fund from which tho travelling expenses of members of the executive be paid was rejected.

WHANGAREI, Wednesday

The annual meeting of the Whangare) Bowling Club was presided over by the president, Dr. ,T. G. Campbell. In his report, the president said the annual fullrink tournament held at the end of January brought forward a record number of entries for North Auckland. He congratulated the Hiknrangi rink which won the tournament. The balance-sheet was very satisfactory, there being a substantial credit balance after redeeming one debenture of £SO and erecting a concrete wall to protect the lower green at a cost of over £2O. The following officers were elected:—Patrons, Messrs. J. Hill (Auckland), F. J. White (New Plymouth), and W. Delamore (Whangarei); president Mr. B. R. Miller; vice-president, Mr. J. H. Marwick; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Graham; green superintendent, Mr. G. S. B. Morrison; delegates to North Auckland Bowling Centre, Messrs. B. R. Miller and T. J. Evans; club coaches, Messrs. PAPATOETOE CLUB There was a large attendance of members at. the 23rd annual meeting of the Papatoetoe Bowling Club. A successful season was reported and (he balance-sheet showed that the bank overdraft had been reduced by £65 during the year. An increase was reporter] in both bowling and crociuet memberships. Wednesday "The future prospects for the club are very bright, and if now has accommodation for more than 100 members," said the retiring president, Mr. J. Vodanovieh, at the annual meeting of the Dargaville Bowling Club. He was quite confident that next year the new green would be playing just as well as the old one. PUTARURU CLUB OFFICERS [from our own correspondent] PUTARURU, Tuesday A most successful season from every point of view was recorded in the report prosonted to the twelfth annual meeting of the Putaruru Rowling Club. The president. Mr. M. St. J. Paxton, presided over a good attendance of members. The report stated that during tho season three full-rink tournaments and one pairs tournament had been held, resulting in a net profit, of £lO ns. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. G.
