THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE
METALS AGAIN IMPROVE
Interest centred round industrials in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Business was fairly active, and. although there were a few isolated declines, the general tone was stronger. A feature was the continued recovery in metal shares. Among the banking issues New Zealnnds were strong. Business passed 3d higher at -lis <id, while more were wanted at -lis Gd without attracting holders. There 'w as a good demand for Commercials of Australia at late rates. Insurances were active and New Zealand* eased slightly. South British sold at current levels, while Nationals were keenly sought ;it an advance. In the metal issues Broken Hill Proprietary and Electrolytic Zincs both made forward movements on a strong market. Australian Glass also moved lip, while Ouulop-Perdriaus were strong. G. J. Coles were marked down. Among the Dominion issues llsous Cement improved slightly.

Flie dividend recommended, 6 Per cent for the year, unchanged, was proved by flic meeting. Mr. T. U. AN ells was re-elected to tho board.
