HAMILTON BRANCH'S YEAR FINANCIAL POSITION SOUND [fhom our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday The services given by Plunkct nurses and visits paid to the Plunkct rooms increased greatly during the year, according to the report to bo presented at the annual meeting of the Hamilton branch of the Plunkct Sccicty on June 25. Visits to the branch's rooms totalled 17,285, an increase of 2200 over last year, and 636 babies came under the nurses' care. Special mention is made of the prenatal advice given to expectant mothers, and emphasis is also laid on the importance ot' bringing children to the Plunkct rooms right up to school age. There is still a great amount ol educational work to be done in this direction, the report states. The death of three members, the president, Mrs. A. M. Bisley, and Mrs. J. M. Osborne and Mr. F. Vickery, is recorded with regret. Tribute is paid to the society's nurses and to the relieving nurse. The sum of £l5O was received through the generosity of Lord Nuffield. The annual Hower da}- realised £-15, the annual fete £lO9, and the winter show stall £SB. The financial statement shows a credit balance of £lll, with £4OO in tho bank. The branch's financial position is considered to be better than it has ever been. The financial position of the Frankton sub-branch is stated to bo sound and the year's work to have been most successful. A baby held last year realised the sum of £S7. TE AROHA BRANCH At the annual meeting of the Te Aroha branch of the Plunket Society, the resident nurse, Miss White, reported that the work of the society had progressed satisfactorily during the year. There had been a decided increase in attendances. The year had also been-a satisfactory one financially, the cash balance having increased by £27. There was now a net surplus of assets over liabilities of £219. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr. R. Coulter; president, Mrs. F. W. Wild; vice-presidents. Mcsdames J. A.
