Mrs. E. N. Wheeler has returned to Tirau from a visit to Auckland. She was accompanied by her niece, Miss Lola Earles, of Sandringham.

Mrs. W. Machin, of Christchurch, loft Auckland by the Monowai yesterday for Vancouver, where she will attend the Pan-Paeifio conference.

Mrs. G. Lawrence Taylor and her daughter, Miss Ruth Taylor, Esplanade Road, Mount Eden, left by the Monowai vesterday on a visit to Suva.

Mrs. G. R. Ritchie, of Dunedin, is at the Grand Hotel. Her daughter. Miss Elizabeth Ritchie, left yesterday by the Monowai on a visit to Witoria, British Columbia.

An address on world peace was given by Mrs. E. Bauer at the monthly afternoon gathering of the Royal Society of St. George, held in the Penwomen's Club rooms on Monday. Songs by Mrs. Barclay and recitations by Mrs. Bagric were enjoyed.

A happy party was celebrated recently at the home of Mr. James Garrett, of Glenfield Road. Birkenhead, in honour of Miss A\ ill is on the occasion of her 88th birthday. Mitss Willis received many beautiful presents from her nieces, nephews and friends.
