PRISON SENTENCES

GERMAN BIBLE STUDENTS TENETS OF THEIR SOCIETY (Received May 31, W. 40 p.m.) BERLIN. May Hi Forty-two former members of the banned International Society of Bible Students were sentenced to terms of imprisonment ranging from four to 18 months. The Judge said ho was not punishing them because of their religious convictions but because they belonged to an organisation whoso tenets were similar to Communism. Although they sought to hide their aims under the mantle of religion, they tried to undermine the foundations of the State, and the result of their doctrines must lie anarchy.
