UNION FUNDS STOLEN

SECRETARY'S CONFESSION ADMITTED TO PROBATION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GREYMOUTH, Monday Tho theft of £l2, the property of the New Zealand Workers' Union, was admitted in tho Magistrate's Court this morning by Albert Thomas Graham, aged 46, who was employed by the Public Works Department at Stevenson's Flat during February and March. Accused was the local secretary of the union and collected money as annual subscriptions from men in camp. He failed to account for the money and left for C'hristchurch. He returned to Grevmouth and gave himself up to tho police as he was worrying. He stated that ho spent most of tho money on liquor. Mr. It. Ferner admitted the accused to probation for twelve months conditionally on repayment of the money.
