CORONATION FILM

AUCKLAND SCREENINGS PLAZA AND CIVIC THEATRES Although it is less than 16 days since King George and Queen Elizabeth were crowned in Westminster Abbey, motion pictures of this memorable event in British history are to be released to-day at the Civic Theatre and the Plaza Theatre. The delivery of this fascinating film has in itself formed an exciting story. The reels were brought by the England-Australia air service as far as Singapore, and from there they were carried to Australia in an aeroplano specially chartered for this purpose. From Sydney the film has been brought to Wellington by the Maunganui, which is scheduled to arrive there this morning. At Wellington the film will be transferred to an aeroplane piloted by Flight-Lieutenant Jtawnsley, who will take off immediately for Auckland, where he is expected to arrive about mid-day. The films will then be rushed to the Civic Theatre and the Plaza Theatre, and will be included in the morning programmes to be presented at these theatres to-day. Thus in a very short time since the Coronation scenes of the momentous occasion will be available to the Auckland public. The films are of a very high standard, and will provide audiences a much more comprehensive view of the ceremonies than thatobtained by many people who paid high prices for seats.

These films are to be included also in the afternoon and evening sessions at the Plaza Theatre and the Civic Theatre, where they should provide exceedingly attractive additions to the entertaining programmes which arc to bo presented at these theatres for the first/ time to-day.
