DUKE OF WINDSOR
JOURNALISTS AT CANDE PHOTOGRAPHS OF COUPLE TOURS, May 7 The Duke of Windsor and Mrs. Simpson, standing on a terrace of the Chateau de Cande, received photographers to-day. In reply to a request for "a happy picture," Mrs. Simpson said: "We are always happy!" The Duke added: "Of course. Isn't that evident?"
During the taking of photographs the couple were laughing and talking genially and seemed to be radiantly happy. The pair later went driving, preceded and followed by cars full of detectives.
There was a free-for-all fight one moment when the police tried to stop a cameraman who was climbing a tree. Reporters are to be received every evening until the date of the marriage is announced.
